Major Disruption and Severe Weather Policy

Version 2026-09-15 · Owners and travelers

1. Case-by-case review

Weather data, forecasts, beach flags, named storms, ordinary seasonal weather, or travel concern do not automatically cancel a reservation or guarantee a refund. Neluxsis may use official emergency and government information to support review, but the exact accommodation impact, accepted booking policy, payment status, timing, and applicable law remain controlling.

2. Named storms and mandatory evacuation orders

If a civil authority with jurisdiction over the accommodation issues a mandatory evacuation order that covers the property for any part of a confirmed stay, the traveler receives a refund for each night the order prevents occupancy, including the Neluxsis service fee and lodging tax attributable to those nights. A voluntary evacuation advisory, a shelter-in-place notice, or an order covering a different area does not trigger this section.

A named storm, hurricane watch or warning, tropical-storm forecast, closed beach, red or double-red flag, or rough surf does not by itself cancel a reservation or create a refund. Storms are a normal feature of Gulf Coast travel between June and November, and the risk is known at the time of booking. Travelers concerned about that risk should consider third-party travel insurance, which Neluxsis does not sell and cannot advise on.

This is the same standard applied across the Alabama Gulf Coast rental market. Neluxsis states it here so that a traveler can read it before paying rather than after a storm forms.

3. Potential qualifying events

This policy may apply to events such as:

  • Mandatory evacuation orders affecting the accommodation.
  • Government orders that legally prohibit the stay.
  • The accommodation becoming uninhabitable or inaccessible.
  • Prolonged loss of essential utilities at the accommodation.
  • A broad, extraordinary infrastructure disruption that prevents access to the affected area.
  • A declared event with a direct, documented impact on the exact stay.

4. Events generally outside the policy

Unless required by law or expressly included in the accepted booking terms, ordinary seasonal weather, poor beach or surf conditions, fear of travel, personal transportation problems, personal-document issues, illness or changed personal circumstances, a nonessential amenity interruption, events known and disclosed before booking, or disruption outside the booked location do not automatically qualify.

5. Notice, evidence, and remedies

The affected party should notify Neluxsis and the other booking party promptly through the designated channel and provide available official orders, property notices, access or utility information, communications, and other relevant support.

A review may consider the event, affected jurisdiction, official source, timing, exact-unit impact, habitability, owner response, reasonable alternatives, payment status, taxes, processing costs, and accepted cancellation terms. Possible outcomes may include no special remedy, an agreed modification, substitute accommodation, credit, refund for affected nights, fee or tax adjustment, or cancellation. No outcome is promised until final terms and law are applied.

6. Owner and traveler responsibilities

Owners must maintain current emergency contacts, promptly disclose a material condition that prevents the stay, follow government orders, and cooperate with reasonable evidence and refund review. Travelers must follow evacuation orders, official instructions, first responders, property management, and posted restrictions and must not enter or remain in a closed or unsafe property.

7. Safety and records

Neluxsis weather, tide, beach, and flag information is planning information. Conditions can change rapidly and vary by location. It is not an emergency service, travel insurance, or a safety or availability guarantee.

Neluxsis should retain the official source reference, event scope, affected booking, communications, evidence references, decision, financial and tax adjustments, accepted policy versions, and audit history. Automated weather data must never cancel a booking by itself.
